Jazz days 2017
Aux racines du jazz [At the roots of Jazz]
UNESCO has proclaimed April 30 as the “International Day of Jazz”. The musée des Confluences has taken part in this process by offering Jazz Days every year, an event over several days that gives carte blanche to a musician to create and improvise around powerful themes from the museum. After the residencies of Nguyên Lê and Dhafer Youssef, it is the turn of the trumpeter Paolo Fresu to transport us to the heart of his native Sardinia for three concerts.
Jazz Day will be dedicated to the roots of jazz with an invigorating musical review of the work of Louis Moreau Gottschalk, precursor of jazz, through the incredible duet of Lionel Martin and Mario Stantchev.
