The Final Passage

Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 October | starting at 11 am

3D Movie I France I 2015 I 28’ I Directed by Pascal Magontier

Entirely constructed from 3D models with a LaserScan, resources made available by the Ministry of Culture and Communication, the owner and manager of the original cave, the film reveals an uninterrupted journey through the Chauvet-Pont d’Arc Cave, whose steady development may approach the experience of the first humans who came here 36,000 years ago. This film cannot be classed in any existing category of film or documentary. Its choice of narratives and the bias of its unusual commentary as well as its original music contributes to creating a very powerful emotional force. In an uncut sequence filmed with a subjective camera, we discover, through an immersive experience, one of the greatest sites of human history. Lions, mammoths, rhinoceros, bears and half-human, half-animal figures come to life on the walls in this unedited, hyper-realistic digital reproduction.
