Pharmakon. Poisonous worlds, anthropological approaches

Thursday 19 October | 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
Friday, October 20 | 9:30 am – 5:30 pm

This scientific symposium (in French), organised as part of the Venenum, a poisonous world Exhibition, testifies to the universality of fears related to eating doubtful substances and the variety of concepts of poison as well as of poisoning practices. It highlights an anthropological approach to poison, by focusing on the immediate context as well as on distant societies.
