When injustice is spatial

[Round table in French]

Pastoralism in the Sahel is currently undergoing fundamental changes and pastoral societies must continually reinvent their activities and lifestyles. Growing urbanisation, demographic growth, migration, development of agricultural areas, climate variations, rapid expansion of mining activities, rise of armed conflict… These evolutions are bringing about a new geography of pastoral mobility and shaking up relationships between pastoralists, farmers, urban and rural elites, traders, investors and public authorities, leading to shifting alliances and the emergence of new political and social tensions.
