With its large crystals, which are slightly curved and marked by grooves and streaks, this sample of stibnite (antimonite) is typical of this deposit. Very malleable, lead was used as early as antiquity to make pipes and roofing. Alloying with antimony, which is harder, played a fundamental role in the development of printing in the fifteenth century. Domestic use of these materials is now forbidden in France.
