The graves reflect the deceased's identity and activities. Female graves contain objects related to textile production, which was essentially a female role in Ychsma society, as in most pre-Columbian societies. The presence of decorations on the clothes or fardo (funerary bundle) indicates that the deceased belonged to a high social class. The geometric patterns, as well as depictions of humans and animals, are references to the environment and culture of these peoples.
