Terra incognita

Terra incognita

rendezvous at the end of the world

Temporary exhibition

From 22 September 2023 to 03 March 2024

Passionate filmmaker Luc Jacquet follows in the wake of the great explorers, using this exhibition to share his “Antarctic fever”, that visceral attachment to the Polar Regions, however inaccessible and inhospitable they may be.

He invites us to walk in his shoes and enjoy a unique immersive experience, from Patagonia to the South Pole, through sound ambiences and black-and-white film sequences. Who knows, we may feel that awesome continent’s magnetism in our turn…

The ends of the earth

Five pictures are projected in succession on the cube in the middle of the room, “the ends of the earth”. They correspond to five of the voyage’s milestones, five ever more southerly experiences. These filmed black-and-white images have been chosen for their immersive, graphic power. There you are, in discovery of wild, faraway lands, as well as on a contemplative inner journey.
